The Expert LRF 8x40 is a versatile optical device which combines features of a binocular with eight power magnification and a laser rangefinder.
The progressive optical system based on an innovative Porro prism design lies at the core of the Expert LRF 8x40 binocular. Due to the non-axial construction (both optical channels are encased in a single fiberglass body) the unit is highly shock resistant. Exterior flat protective filters, installed in front of the objective lenses, shield the optics from sand, dust and moisture.
The built-in rangefinder provides high accuracy of range measurement (±1 m) within the entire operation range (5 … 1000 m). The unit operates in two modes: single measurements or scan mode. Measurement readout is shown in meters or yards.
The unit employs a patented on-screen display system featuring high light transmission of the optical channel (loss of light is many times lower than that in LCD solutions).
Reticle and measurement readout are displayed in the field of view as crisp red symbols, whose brightness can be stepwise adjusted (there are five brightness degrees). This optimizes reticle contrast as regards to an object under observation. The displayed information is well perceived in sunny weather and in the twilight.
The Expert LRF 8x40 binocular operates in a wide temperature range (from -30 to +45 °C).
