"Hearing Protection Act" Bill Would Remove Tax, Waiting Periods for Suppressors
Republicans in the U.S. House and Senate have introduced legislation to reform the laws that govern suppressors. The bills, both called the "Hearing Protection Act," would remove the $200 tax and long registration process that are currently required in order to obtain a suppressor. (Consumers would still be required to pass a background check when purchasing a suppressor from a licensed gun dealer, such as Wholesale Hunter.)
