ISIDE: A great designer of the past used to say that often perfect engineering works from the operational standpoint are also surprisingly beautiful. During the presentation to the public, a large number of enthusiasts commented about the pleasant sensations of lightness and strength they felt from Iside and the purity of the "round-body" break-action lines given the prototypes with no engravings. The heart of the weapon, made entirely from a machined single piece, seduced the enthusiasts in the most beautiful way, that is, without artifices, our way. The "Iside" family, in its smoothbore versions, includes the "ISIDE EM" with automatic ejection through large ejectors. While the feature that makes Iside unique, in addition to its break-action, is the chopper-lump (demi-bloc) based barrel coupling system where the barrel and breech are formed from a single piece of bored steel. These solutions, combined with the use of highly resistant materials, have enabled the size and weight to be reduced so significantly as to have rendered the use of lightweight aluminum alloys meaningless. Iside elegance, lightness and versatility makes it a true goddess.

Since its establishment in 1971, F.A.I.R.® has specialized in the manufacture of functional and highly reliable sports and hunting shotguns. Purchasers of F.A.I.R.® shotguns are hunters or sports shooters who not only want their shotgun to look great, but also demand a technically advanced and highly reliable product, enabling them to ensure the best chance of success.

While following in the tradition of centuries-old Italian gun manufacturing, we have always focused on applying the latest state-of-the-art mechanical and technical innovation of international shotgun industry to our production process. Our mechanical bodies are designed and developed following extensive R&D, in partnership with our clients across the globe. This enables us to offer a wide range of exclusive sporting guns, attuned to the requirements of different hunting and competition disciplines. If, on the one hand, technology and experience suggest the best solutions to overcome the most common technical problems of shotgun mechanics, on the other it is only thanks to top-ranking manufacturing skills that our products were and continue being awarded widespread praise and appreciation.

As a result of our intensive Research and Development Program, we use the latest technologies and materials for our products. We believe that our focus on technical innovation is one of the key elements of our success, ranking F.AI.R.® 2nd among Italian over-and-under manufacturers. Our state-of-the-art production facility in Marcheno includes several highly-flexible production lines, enabling us to manufacture rifle-barreled guns alongside the more traditional smooth-bore models. Ungulates and haired game hunters appreciate the high quality of F.A.I.R.® products, since these guns are manufactured with the same technology we have long been using and improving to produce our smooth-bore shotguns. Design plays the major role in the production process.

Caliber Dictionary

The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
The 28 gauge was introduced in 1903 by Parker Brothers, famous for double-barrel shotguns. With a nominal bore diameter of .550-inch, it is considered a "small gauge" shotgun, and 28 gauge is one of the four officlal events in American skeet. Case length is 2 3/4 inches and the standard charge is just 3/4-ounce of shot. That said, with modern shells the 28 gauge is surprisingly effective on both clay targets and upland birds. Although definitely an "expert's shotgun," the 28 gauge has the advantage of low recoil, can be built into very light shotguns, and is much more effective than the .410. Over the years it was kept alive mostly by serious skeet shooters, but today is often chosen by serious upland bird hunters. Because of pellet count it is most effective with smaller shot sizes (7 1/2, 8, and 9), so is rarely employed by waterfowlers. — Craig Boddington
