This trigger is adjustable for pull weight, creep, and backlash. Minor fitting may be required. Instructions included. The safety is a 3 position system, safety with bolt-lock, safety without bolt-lock, and fire. The Howa 1500 action does not take advantage of the safety with bolt-lock position, therefore it is necessary to remove the bolt-lock tab from the safety (instructions included). The overtravel adjustment screw has been eliminated, therefore the overtravel is not adjustable. If this trigger will not work with a particular style of Howa 1500, Timney will alter the trigger at no charge if the trigger is returned directly to Timney.

I have a older Weatherby Vanguard with Walnut stock in 270 win, one of the early models , nice rifle but terrible gritty trigger with heavy pull lots of creep and over travel, every thing you don't want in a trigger I had. I have used Timney Trigger in the pass with 100%. perfect results. I hated to spend the money on this trigger but it turned a rifle I could stand to shoot in to a fine shooter. Amazing how more accurate your rifle can become when you have a good trigger. Most of have these types of rifle for our chosen sport, might as well spend a few more buck and enjoy the sport so much more. After you one, you'll wonder why you waited so long to upgrade. Also I shoot many fine rifle that have good trigger, when I would switch back to this one with the old trigger, or back the other way , it would competently though off my trigger pull rhythm because it was so more worst than my other guns.. Now all the rifles have a similar or close trigger pull so when change between rifle it is much easier. The factory triggers our some what adjustable but can not come close to the Timney . Well wort the investment. I buy and trade guns all the time in search of the best, I generally keep about 40 center fire rifles from 204 Ruger varmint guns to double 500 NE. Your trigger like your scope are two things you need to get right,

The best word to describe this trigger is simply WOW! I have used Timney triggers to upgrade Mauser before and always worked out great. No long ago a bought a used older Weatherby Vangaurd on Gun Broker, it was a early model with a plain walnut stock in 270 win. Nice looking gun and in great shape, but the trigger was terrible and imply ruined the rifle. It wasn't any fun to shoot because the trigger had terible gritty pull with a lot of travel and a heavy pull weight. .I tried to adjust it but with the maximum setting it still had way to much gritty travel. I bought the gun cheap so I invested in this trigger and I'm so glad I did. It completely transformed the whole gun in t a real gem. Its now a dream to shoot with no adjustment needed. The factory setting perfect right out of the box. It fit the rifle perfect and was way to install, just one screw. I did have to remove a little wood from the stock so the safety could travel fully with out dragging on the stock. But that only took a few minutes with a dremil tool. You know I realize that a trigger is a lot like a scope. The rifle just sites in the middle and no matter how good the rifle may be, it's not any better than the scope or the trigger.
