The 9mm Luger (9X19mm, Parabellum, P08) was developed in Germany in 1902. Widely used in both world wars, it is the most popular pistol cartridge in the world, now widely used by innumerable law enforcement agencies and militaries (including our own) in both pistols and submachineguns. The controversy over its "stopping power" will never go away, but its attribute is that it is much easier to shoot accurately than larger cartridges with greater power...but more recoil. Advancements in bullet design for law enforcement and personal defense have narrowed the gap considerably. The 9mm Luger is a world standard, chambered by virtually all makers of semiautomatic pistols, with a myriad of factory loads. The most standard is probably a 115-grain load at 1160 fps, with common bullet weights ranging from 95 to 147 grains, and +P loads at higher velocity. — Craig Boddington

Most Helpful Positive Review

Have several military style Tokarev style pistols in 7.62x25. These style pistols are fun to shoot but the ammunition, even for military surplus is pushing .30 per round. Zastava Arms USA imports these Tokarev pistols in both the original (M57) 7.62x25 round and this gun (M70) in 9mm. These guns are extremely well built and very reliable and shooting them with 9mm ammo is half the cost. I have searched numerous outlets for this pistol and Wholesale Hunter was the only one that had it available and at a reasonable price point. If you want an modern production of a European military style pistol that is fun to shoot and cheap (9mm) to shoot then this is the ticket. Upon purchase this gun was sent to my FFL here in Birmingham in less than 5 days including the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Very pleased with the service, availability and price point.
