Product Summary

Henry Original Deluxe Engraved 25th Anniversary Lever Action Rifle .44-40 Winchester 24.5" Octagon Blued Steel Barrel 13 Round Capacity Blade Front & Folding Ladder Rear Sights Hand-Selected Rosewood Stock Brass Finish

In the early 1860s, Benjamin Tyler Henry’s breakthrough design for a reliable and practical lever action repeater cemented his name into firearms history. Moreover, he cemented the lever action as America’s unique contribution to the international stage of firearms design.

While B.T. Henry’s 1860 repeater was only produced for six years, its spirit lived on in the rifles that won the West, and the legacy continues to this day in more than 550 employees at Henry Repeating Arms and millions of customers worldwide. Now, on their twenty-fifth anniversary, they are proud to announce this limited-edition salute to their continuation of that legacy with The New Original Henry 25th Anniversary Edition.

While it remains a faithful recreation of the 1860 Henry that you could “load on Sunday and shoot all week” like the other rifles in the H011 family, they have added a special touch with rich rosewood furniture hand-selected by Henry CEO and Founder Anthony Imperato. The wood presents a warm reddish color, a beautiful complement to the brass receiver and crescent buttplate. Known for its durability in the woodworking and furniture worlds, collectors can pass this heirloom down from generation to generation with minimal dings and dents.

Calling to mind the prized presentation rifles of the 19th century, our 25th Anniversary Edition is engraved with traditional leafy vine scrollwork on both sides of the polished brass receiver. The Henry 25th Anniversary emblem sits proudly on the right side of the receiver, surrounded by a darted pattern that defines the New Original Henry’s iconic silhouette. On both receiver sides, “XXV” numerals reiterate the rifle’s place in Henry history.

This model is limited to 2,500 exclusive units with unique serial numbers ranging from 25HENRY0001 to 25HENRY2500.

Honoring the continuation of a legacy born more than 200 years ago, the H011D-25 is more than a celebration of their twenty-fifth anniversary. It’s proof that the lever action has been, and always will be, America’s rifle.

Caliber Dictionary

The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
The 44-40 Winchester (44 WCF) was introduced by Winchester in 1873 in their Model 1873 lever action. The '73, "the gun that won the West," was the first truly successful repeater, and its 44-40 cartridge was quickly adopted by other manufacturers, including both Colt and Smith & Wesson in revolvers. Using a .427-inch bullet, the standard load features a 200-grain bullet at about 1100 feet per second, producing 588 foot-pounds of energy. This is not a lot of power, but the 44-40 was probaby the most popular sporting cartridge of the 19th Century, accounting for untold amounts of game. It remained the most popular chambering in the 1892 Winchester, and was a common chambering in both rifles and handguns at least through the 1940s. The growth in Cowboy Action shooting has revived it; the 44-40 has less recoil than the 45 Colt, and serves as a common chambering for rifles and revolvers. Ammo is readily available and it is chambered to numerous reissues and reproductions. — Craig Boddington
