I used these low rings with a vx3 4.5-14x40 Leupold scope on an older model Remington 700 BDL short action .308 with a standard Leupold 2 piece base. These low rings got the scope lower and still had sufficient clearance. Was able to line up the windage crosshair perfectly on the boresighter using only the windage screws located on the base.
