Authenticity was a strict requirement for Hornady's new Frontier cartridges and Cowboy bullets. What else would you expect from a company born and raised in the heart of cowboy country?
What sets Cowboy cartridges apart is the Hornady Cowboy bullet design. The special knurling system holds an even distribution of lubricating wax over the entire bearing surface. A grease ring at the rear of the bullet catches the wax as the bullet travels through the barrel. The result is significantly less leading in your barrel than with cast bullets and ordinary grease grooves.
The bullet's authentic flat-point design improves accuracy by moving the center of gravity back. It also ensures proper positioning within authentic revolvers, which is critical to prevent unwanted nicking of the primer as the revolver's magazine rotates between the shots.
If it's authenticity you're aiming for, fill your saddlebags with Hornady Cowboy bullets!
