In 1832, explorers named the headwaters of the Mississippi ITASCA meaning "true source." On its journey from Northern Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico, and across the great expanse of this country, hunters, hikers, backpackers, skiers and outdoor people of all ages have come to depend on the quality of the ITASCA name…your true source for footwear.
Itasca footwear is built for durability and superior performance. Each component in an Itasca boot is selected with great care. Only high quality materials are used to ensure your comfort and provide the dependability you expect from Itasca.
The Hawk I in Mossy Oak Break Up features a Cordura/Leather upper. Cordura is the most durable textile material available for footwear. Cordura is easy to take care of, yet very resistant to abrasion, tears or punctures. It has the look and feel of cotton duck with the superior performance of nylon. This boot is insulated with Thinsulate, which is the number one footwear insulation that is recognized by consumers three to one over the competition.
The Hawk I also features AquaPlus waterproofing. This is a waterproof, breathable membrane that acts as a barrier to keep water out. It works effectively in any weather condition or for any outdoor activity. AquaPlus allows your body perspiration to evaporate to the outside of the boot thus keeping your feet warm and dry.
