Caliber Dictionary
The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
The 32 H&R Mag (Harrington & Richardson Magnum, 32 Colt New Police) is a rimmed revolver cartridge introduced by Harrington & Richardson in 1983. It is essentially a lengthened 32 Long case, using an 85-grain .315-inch bullet at 1100 feet per second. The longer case prevents chambering in 32 Short or 32 Long revolvers, but both 32 Short and 32 Long cartridges may be chambered in 32 H&R Mag revolvers, offering low-recoil ammunition for practice and the faster 32 H&R Mag ammunition for small game and personal defense. Few new revolvers are currently chambered to 32 H&R Mag, but ammunition is widely available. — Craig Boddington
