Features of the Browning Citori Field:
Locking Bolt and Hinge Pin: The Citori is the only over and under with a transverse-mounted, full-width tapered locking bolt. The tapered bolt engages to a full-width tapered access in the rear barrel. This allows the bolt to seat deeper over time. The Hinge Pin extends from one side of the receiver to the other for maximum strength.
Hammer Ejectors: Browning ejectors are fired by a sharp hammer blow. This gives more precise ejection than the imparted on competitors' ejectors. The ejector fires shells when the breech is open. The unfired shells are elevated so they can be easily removed.
Mechanical Trigger: Citori shotguns feature the Triple Trigger System-- which allows the shooter to adjust the length of pull and switch between a wide checkered, a narrow smooth and a wide smooth canted trigger shoe. The mechanical trigger offers the benefits of crisper feel, lighter pull, and shorter lock time and less over travel.
Back-Bored Barrels: All Citori 12 and 20 shotguns feature lightweight, back-bored barrels. These barrels have a bore diameter increased to its maximum specification. This reduces the friction of the shot charge against the barrel wall, resulting in increased shot velocity. Additionally, because there is less constriction or pressure from the forcing cones on a shot charge, there are fewer deformed pellets, which lead to more uniform patterns than with standard barrels. These reductions serve to increase shooting comfort and improve follow-up shot speed and accuracy.
