Product Summary

LWRC MK6, Semi-automatic Rifle, 223 Rem/556NATO, 16" (14.7" with Pinned Brake) Spiral Fluted Barrel, Flat Dark Earth Finish, SOPMOD Stock, Skirmish Sights, 30 Rounds, Geissele Trigger, Right Hand

LWRC International is one of the leading developers of the short stroke Gas Piston system for the AR-15 rifle. If you are looking for the accuracy of the AR with the reliability of a piston system then this is your rifle. The IC-MK6 Tricon was designed in conjunction with Jeff Gonzales. The Tricon features a 14.7" with a tight 1:7 twist that measures 16" with the pinned muzzle break. The LWRC modular handguard sports a full length to top rail and Magpul MBUS backup iron sights. It has a BCG charging handle and a Mil-spec safety selector. The spiral fluted cold hammer forged barrel is 15 percent lighter than an unfluted barrel and sheds heat very efficiently. This particular rifle also features a SOPMOD stock, Magpul MAID Pistol Grip, and a Tango Down Short Vertical Grip. A Super Tricon 2 Stage Trigger made by Geissele Automatics is fantastically smooth for quickly engaging multiple close range targets or precision placement of those longer range shots. The Tricon MK6 is the ideal AR15/M4 platform rifle that's well suited to competition and 3 gun, but equally capable for home defense or hunting.

Caliber Dictionary

The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
The 5.56X45mm NATO cartridge was designed by James Sullivan, a member of Eugene Stoner's engineering team that developed both the M16 rifle and its original cartridge. The 5.56X45mm NATO was adopted by the U.S. military in 1964 and by NATO in 1980. With bullet diameter of .224-inch, the original M193 military cartridge used a 55-grain bullet at 3250 fps; the current M855A1 cartridge, developed by FN, uses a 62.5-grain bullet at 3020 fps, offering greater range and better penetration. The civilian version of the 5.56X45mm is 223 Remington; the cartridges are dimensionally identical but military chamber dimensions and specifications for military brass are different. It is considered safe to use 223 Remington ammo in a 5.56X45MM NATO chamber, but not a good idea to use 5.56X45mm ammo in a rifle specifically chambered for the 223 Remington. Although the stopping power of .22-caliber bullets remains controversial the 5.56X45mm has served well in now multiple generations of M16 rifles. — Craig Boddington
