Product Summary

Short and fast -- the scout gun concept. The Black Label Takedown is generally categorized as a scout rifle -- a concept pioneered by Jeff Cooper. It is short, fast to the target and very effective. This BLR takes the concept a bit further by adding a full takedown feature, accessory rails, a flash hider and a shorter than common 18.5" barrel (legal in all 50 states and in Canada).

Takes down fast. The proven BLR takedown system lets you break down your BLR into two compact halves with the pull of a little takedown lever. Nothing more. BLR Takedown models are just as accurate and reliable as their unified counterparts but much easier to transport and store. The rifle is easily and quickly assembled without tools by simply sliding the barrel half into the receiver half and locking them together with the flip of a lever. The lever mechanically engages a stout locking lug into a recess in the bottom of the receiver.

Key differences. The receiver is of aircraft grade aluminum with a Matte black finish. A 1913 scope rail is installed on the receiver which extends forward onto the barrel. Lot's of room for optics and lots of choices for placement. It features a very compact 18.5” barrel featuring a Seekins Flash Hider attached with Suppressor ready threads. Black laminate; Satin finish stock and forearm and 1913 rails suitable for flashlights or lasers on both sides of the forearm. QD cups installed.

Caliber Dictionary

The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
Introduced in 1964, the 223 Remington is the civilian version of the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge. Although very similar to the 222 Remington it has a slightly longer case and a shorter neck, giving it greater powder capacity and thus higher velocity--which was necessary to meet military penetration requirements at longer range. NOTE: 223 Remington ammunition may be safely fired in any 5.56x45mm chamber, but 5.56x45mm ammunition SHOULD NOT BE USED in a 223 chamber! Standard is a 55-grain bullet at 3240 feet per second, with lighter bullets somewhat faster and heavier bullets a bit slower. The 223 is the most popular 22 centerfire today, and possiby the most popular centerfire cartridge. Ammunition choices are legion, as are choices in firearms. The 223 is an accurate cartridge ideally suited for varmint hunting out to beyond 300 yards, and with heavy-bullet loads designed for the purpose is used effectively by many deer hunters. — Craig Boddington
