Sig Sauer E357M1-20 V-Crown JHP 357 Magnum 125 GR JHP 20 Rounds V-Crown Jacketed Hollow Point bullets are designed to provide superior accuracy, reliability, and performance in a personal defense round. The Sig V-Crown stacked hollow point design provides a smaller, additional hollow point cavity behind the main cavity. This design, along with V-shaped jacket skives and scores, provides controlled, uniform expansion at all effective distances and velocities. The bullet has a unique toothed cannelure halfway up the shank to more effectively lock the jacket and core which provides exceptional structural integrity in a jacketed design, ensuring maximum weight retention and outstanding terminal performance. Brass cases are Techni-Crom coated for enhanced lubricity, superior corrosion resistance, and reliable feeding and extraction. Each caliber loading of Sig Sauer Elite Performance Ammunition is precisely matched to the core temper of its Sig V-Crown bullet to ensure maximum terminal performance. The information below comes from our Gun Caliber Dictionary and is for
general reference only. It does not describe the specifications of this
particular item.
The 357 Magnum was introduced by Smith & Wesson in 1935 and initially chambered in their heavy-frame double-action revolver, the 357 was the first "magnum" handgun. Based on the 38 Special case lengthened to 1.29 inches, it was the world's most powerful handgun cartridge until the 44 Magnum. Offering considerably more power and penetration than the 38 Special, it was standard among many law enforcement agencies for decades. It is still widely manufactured in double- and single-action revolvers (and some rifles), available from virtually all revolver manufacturers; and all manufacturers of handgun ammunition offer a variety of 357 Magnum loads. It is a common choice for personal defense, and 357 revolvers have the advantage of handling less expensive and lighter-recoiling 38 Special loads for practice. As a hunting cartridge the 357 Magnum is probably the lightest cartridge that should be considered for deer-sized game.
