Product Summary

Sauer's S 101 Classic features an oil finished walnut Ergo Max ambidextrous
stock with a reverse comb to ensure perfect eye positioning behind your
scope and reduces recoil. The Dura Safe concept is the only direct firing
pin safety activated by an ergonomic lever handle placed in the bolt
sleeve. The integral detent button prevents unintentional release of the
safety. Safe opener allows opening the bolt with the safety still fully
engaged. The Heat Lock procedure connects the barrel and sleeve completely
without tension. The Ever Rest system combines stable bedding with maximum
possible isolation of stock and barrel action, and massive locking lugs
ensure phenomenal accuracy. The S 101 captivates by the legendary silky
smooth bolt and chamber action of Sauer rifles, with quiet loading and
lightning quick repetition. It has an extra wide trigger with an extra
crisp 2 lb. pull, and a 14.4" LOP. It accepts Remington 700 long action
scope base mounts.

Caliber Dictionary

The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
Properly "Caliber 30 Model of 1906," the 30-06 was developed at Springfield Armory for the 1903 Springfield rifle. The original 1903 cartridge, though very similar, used a round-nosed 220-grain bullet; the 1906 version used a 150-grain spitzer bullet with a slightly shorter case neck and case length of 2.494-inches. The 30-06, in Springfield, 1917 Enfield, and M1 Garand rifles, remained America's service cartridge through the Korean War. It was the most powerful cartridge ever adopted by a major military, and over time became America's most popular hunting cartridge. Today there are many good choices, but the 30-06 remains extremely popular throughout the world, suited for most North American big game and equally effective for African plains game. The most common standard loads today feature: 150-grain bullet at 2910 feet per second; 165-grain bullet at 2800 fps; and 180-grain bullet at 2700 fps. Choices in both rifles and ammunition are almost limitless.  — Craig Boddington
