Product Summary

PowerBelt Platinum AeroTip Bullets utilizes an advanced plating technology, a more aggressive bullet shape and a fluted gas check design that combine to make the Platinum Series the best performing high velocity Powerbelt ever. PowerBelt Platinums are plated using a proprietary process that creates a smoother, more universal surface reduces the standard deviation between shots. This plating results in reduced resistance as the bullet travels down the bore, producing faster, more consistent velocities to improve both trajectory and accuracy. PowerBelt Platinums also deliver an improved ballistic coefficient by utilizing a more aggressive bullet taper design. Not only does the new taper provide for a more aerodynamic flight, it also helps control the rate of expansion – regardless of powder charge or bullet velocity on impact. This makes the Platinum the perfect all around choice for use with magnum loads (110-150 grain powder equivalent). Also, the Platinum's larger diameter, fluted gas check fits more tightly than that of a standard PowerBelt, and is reinforced to better withstand magnum pressures, improving both velocity and accuracy.

After shooting the original copper areotip powerbelt for a number of years and killing several whitetails I decided a 2 inch group was not what I was looking for. They always loaded well and I cleaned after 4 shots. I looked at the ballistics and moved from the 245 copper to the 270 platinum (both areotips). At 100 yds, shooting from a rest my groups have gone to consistently 1" sometimes less. I have tried several other sabots but now I have what I was looking for. I wont shoot another bullet in my muzzle loader.
