It is equally at home as a competition or personal defense firearm as it is in the service role. The XD-9 Service model features a 4" barrel and a full-sized frame. It has a striker status indicator and loaded chamber indicator that allow you to know without a doubt by touch whether or not the pistol is loaded and cocked. The grip safety, Ultra Safety Assurance trigger and firing pin block safety combine to prevent accidental discharge. Superior ergonomics allow the XD to point like an extension of your hand.
