The first civilian-legal form of our 805 Bren is the PS1 Pistol, equipped with an 11" barrel in .223/5.56. Utilizing the ubiquitous STANAG magazine used in the AR-15/M16, the 805’s action is housed in a one-piece aluminum upper receiver with a monolithic Picatinny rail.
At the rear of the action is a multipurpose mounting point, fit from the factory with a single-point sling attachment.
The addition of our accessory arm brace adapter coupled with the effective factory-equipped two-port brake makes the Bren impressively stable to shoot in pistol form. It shares the same low-profile sights as our Scorpion — an adjustable aperture rear and post front.
The CZ 805 Bren PS1 Pistol is legally classified by the ATF as a pistol, and is intended by CZ-USA to be used as a pistol. Under current federal law and ATF policy attaching a stock to this pistol – or attaching a device which is then used as a stock or intended to be used as a stock – constitutes the making of a short-barreled rifle which requires registration with ATF and the payment of the applicable tax. Users of the CZ 805 Bren PS1 Pistol bear the sole responsibility for ensuring their use of the firearm complies with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
Introduced in 1964, the 223 Remington is the civilian version of the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge. Although very similar to the 222 Remington it has a slightly longer case and a shorter neck, giving it greater powder capacity and thus higher velocity--which was necessary to meet military penetration requirements at longer range. NOTE: 223 Remington ammunition may be safely fired in any 5.56x45mm chamber, but 5.56x45mm ammunition SHOULD NOT BE USED in a 223 chamber! Standard is a 55-grain bullet at 3240 feet per second, with lighter bullets somewhat faster and heavier bullets a bit slower. The 223 is the most popular 22 centerfire today, and possiby the most popular centerfire cartridge. Ammunition choices are legion, as are choices in firearms. The 223 is an accurate cartridge ideally suited for varmint hunting out to beyond 300 yards, and with heavy-bullet loads designed for the purpose is used effectively by many deer hunters. — Craig Boddington
