41 Special 20 Rounds Ammunition Jamison 215 Grain Lead

Primarily credited to John Taffin, the .41 Special is a wildcat revolver cartridge based on a shortened .41 Remington Magnum case, developed about 1963, just before the 1964 introduction of the .41 Magnum. It is essentially what the .38 Special is to the .357; and the .44 Special to the .44 Magnum, thus offering a lower-recoil option that can be fired in the same chamber as the longer and more powerful "magnum" version. Although never manufactured in commercial revolvers or loaded by major ammo manufacturers, the .41 Special has been offered by numerous custom pistolsmiths, and headstamped brass has been offered. The .41 Special uses the same .410-inch bullet diameter as the .41 Remington Magnum...and uses the same case shortened by one-tenth of an inch. — Craig Boddington
