The .500 Wyoming Express (.500 WE) is a powerful revolver cartridge introduced in 2005 by Freedom Arms for their Model 83 single-action revolver. Uniquely, the .500 WE is an original belted case not based on any existing case; the belt allows use of a smaller rim to better fit the Model 83. Bullet diameter of .500-inch is the same as the .500 S&W, but with a shorter 1.37-inch case it is not as powerful as the .500 S&W. It is still an extremely powerful handgun cartridge, similar in performance to the .50 Action Express. It propels a 440-grain bullet at 1200 fps, rendering it adequately powerful for almost any game on Earth!
