Cimarron 1851 Richards-Mason Conversion Revolver With Navy Grip 38 Special 7 1/2" Barrel Case/Charcoal Blue
Cimarron Firearms imported cowboy action version of the 1851 Richards - Mason Cartridge Conversions. Reproduction made by Aldo Uberti & Co. - .38 Special (no + P ammo). In 1871 Colt employee Charles Richards was awarded a patent for converting 1851 Colt Navy percussion revolvers to a breech loading cartridge revolver. In 1872 William Mason, another Colt employee, was awarded a patent for an improvement to the Richards model and the 1851 Richards-Mason Conversion model revolver was born. As percussion parts ran short, the 1860 Richards-Mason barrel was changed from the earlier octagon percussion model profile to the round barreled sleek profile of the 1871-2.
