Product Summary

Uberti 1873 Cattleman Old Model Frame Revolver Military Cartouche Grip Case Hardened Frame 45 Colt 7.5" Barrel

The Cattleman Old Model frame is a replica of the original-style 1873 frame with a "fourth screw" in the frame to retain the cylinder pin. The Cattleman Old Model also features the traditional "doughnut" shaped ejector rod tab with the original thinner front blade & rear sight frame notch. Usually ordered in the standard finish, they come with a forged case hardened frame and blued steel parts. This is the perfect revolver for any shooter wanting a true original-style single action. The Cavalry version is usually ordered in the 7.5" .45 Colt configuration and comes with the US Cavalry stamps and grip cartouche.

Caliber Dictionary

The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
The 45 Colt (45 Long Colt) was introduced in 1873 in Colt's Single Action Army. Adopted by the U.S. military in 1875, it served until 1892 when it was replaced by the less powerful (and unsatisfactory) 38 Long Colt. Originally loaded with 40 grains of blackpowder and a 255-grain bullet the 45 Colt produced about 900 feet per second for more than 400 foot-pounds of energy, a powerful handgun cartridge for its day--and any day. Using a .454-inch bullet, today's standard load retains the 255-grain bullet at 860 fps. Lighter bullets at somewhat higher velocities are available. 45 Colt was the most common chambering in Colt's single action. Today it is chambered in virtually all centerfire single-action revolvers and has been chambered in numerous large-frame double-action revolvers. 45 Colt is the most popular revolver cartridge in cowboy action shooting, and remains a powerful and effective personal defense cartridge, its only drawback being the necessity for a large revolver to house it. — Craig Boddington

I JUST BOUGHT THIS PISTOL AND AM STILL WAITING FOR IT TO BE SHIPPED, BUT I P-CKE4D THIS ONE OUT BECAUSE OF THE WAY THE , DESCRIPTION READ AND THIS WILL BE MY SECOND UBERTI 6 SHOOTER . I BOUGHT THE OTHER ONE OFF OF ,WHOLESALE HUNTER AND IT IS A 1873 CATTLEMAN RANCH HAND . IT`S A FINE GUN BUT HANDLE IS A BIT SMALL FOR MY HAND. . THAT IS WWHY I8 PICKED THIS ONE BECAUSE THE GRIP ON THIS ONE IS SUPPOSED TO BE MORE MILITARY STYLE, A BIGGER HANDLE MORE THE TYPE AN ARTILLARY PERSON IN ARMED FORCES WOULD OF USED DURING THAT TIME PERIOD. I HOPE IT TURNS OUT TRUE. YES THE 7.5" COLT WITH THE U.S. CALVARY STAMPS GRIP CARTOUCHE ! THIS IS FINE PISTOL IS WITH THE TRUE TRADITION OF THE OLD WEST AND WHOLESALE HUNTER REPRESENTS THIS , THANK YOU.
